Every year Cumpston Sarjeant runs a AFL Footy Tipping Competition. Participation is optional and it is free to participate. You do not have to be an employee of the company to be eligible to enter. Any person can enter. The winner receives a cash prize, paid electronically to their designed bank account, upon the conclusion of the footy season.
Official Rules
Main (Home & Away) competition
- Each individual tip effectively represents a bet placed on the nominated team (no draw tips are permitted).
- For each correct tip you receive points as determined by payout odds published by Sportsbet on the day of the first match of each round (these will be emailed to competitors on Thursday or Friday morning).
- For each incorrect tip you receive nothing.
- For each omitted tip, you receive 0.6 points (i.e. a 40% penalty for missing tips).
- Each tip must be submitted before commencement of that game (determined by the received date/time stamp placed by our email server) and can be altered or resubmitted any number of times. Any tips submitted late will be disregarded.
- Tips for each game can be altered or submitted any number of times up to the commencement of that game.
Finals competition
- Each tipper receives one entry into the Finals tipping competition.
- The Second Chance prize will be split between all entries with the correct Grand Final winner and the margin closest in absolute value to the actual winning margin.
- If no such entry exists, the prize will be split between all entries with the correct runner-up and the lowest margin.
- In the unlikely event that no one tips either team playing in the Grand Final, the prize will be split equally between all entries surviving the longest in the Finals series.
